Lily the lizard lived in a tall lighthouse by the lake. She loved to look at the light that helped lost boats find land.

"Lily!" called her pal Liam the lion. "Let's have lunch on the hill!"

Lily smiled. "I'll bring my special lemonade!"

Lily filled her pail with lemons, sugar, and cool water. She also packed a little salad and logs of licorice candy.

"Let's roll!" said Lily.

As they climbed the hill, Lily told Liam about her lighthouse.

"Last night, the light bulb fell! I had to climb all the way to the top in the middle of the night!"

Liam laughed. "Did you feel afraid?"

"A little," said Lily. "But I had to help the sailors!"

They settled on top of the hill. Lily laid out their meal on a clean towel.

Suddenly, they heard a call from below.

"Help! Help!" It was Ollie the owl, flying in loops around the lighthouse.

"The lighthouse light is out again!" yelled Ollie.

Lily looked back. The tall lighthouse had no light at all!

"Oh no! We need to help!" said Lily.

Liam had an idea. He pulled a lamp from his backpack.

"Will this help?" he asked.

Lily clapped her hands. "It's perfect!"

They ran down the hill, Liam leading the way. When they got to the lighthouse, Lily climbed the ladder with the lamp.

At the top, she found the problem. A small mole had pulled out the wires!

"Hello!" said the mole. "I'm building a pool!"

Lily couldn't help but laugh. She fixed the light and invited the mole to join their lunch.

And they all ate licorice logs on the hill.
